Special rotor shafts is something we get asked about frequently.
Standard metric frame motors will have a standard IEC shaft from the factory, for example, a 71 frame machine will have a 14 x 30mm shaft. 80 frame will have 19 x 40mm and so on.
This particular motor is quite unusual as it has 15Kw of power in a 132 frame (standard frame size for a 15Kw motor is 160).
So, we start with a standard TEC Electric Motor which is then dismantled.
Once the rotor is removed, we machine out the old shaft (sometimes they press out – not on this occasion!)
The new shaft is then manufactured to whatever spec is required (we had a sample to work from here)
Once complete the new shaft is pushed into the rotor (press fit) and the whole machine re-assembled.
This was completed within a week.
If we can help with any special rotor shaft requirements, or TEC Electric Motors in general, please do get in touch.
