This electric motor was sent to us for checking out after it had failed after a short amount of service time,
As you can see from the images, it has been so hot that the insulation has melted, as has the cooling fan.
This is a direct result of the motor drawing excessive current (overload)
Always check your running currents to make sure they are within the specified range stated on your electric motor’s name plate.
If you are running with a frequency inverter, connect the thermistor and make sure your full load currents are correctly entered.
This will prevent premature failures like this.
